We often hear people say that life is precious and must be cherished. But in the same breath, we see many who fear death, as if it is something unnatural or avoidable.
However, the fundamental truth of existence is that anything that is born must eventually perish. The cycle of life and death is not something to be feared but understood. In this article “The Path to Self-Realization: Accepting Life and Death” I will try to explain
Life—A Journey, Not an End Point
Many worry that once this life ends, they may cease to exist forever.
But in reality, this is neither your first birth nor your last.
The soul has inhabited countless bodies before this one,
and when this physical form dissolves,
the soul will continue its journey in another existence.
So why fear death when it is merely a transition from one form to another?
Living Without Fear
Does this mean one should be reckless—careless about life or invite danger?
Certainly not.
A deer runs for its life when pursued by a predator.
It does not surrender to fate; it fights to survive.
Similarly, desiring to live is natural,
but being afraid of death is unnecessary.
Life must be embraced fully, yet one must not tremble at its inevitable end.
Experiencing Life Authentically
The greatest realization is not found in avoiding death but in truly experiencing life.
Instead of endlessly worrying about the unknown,
one should immerse themselves in the beauty of existence.
Find joy in what you do.
Seek wisdom, love, and fulfillment.
Know that everything happens in its time—life, experiences, and even departure.
And when the moment comes for the soul to leave its body,
it will simply dissolve back into the vast existence,
just as a drop of water returns to the ocean.
Thus, the greatest form of self-realization is accepting both life and death—
without fear, but with understanding.
